The Leonard Legacy Award honors water district directors who champion districts’ efforts that make their parts of the world better.

Our very own Wayne Chandler was awarded the 2025 AWBD Leonard Legacy Award for his commitment and dedication to serving Fort Bend MUD 41. Director Chandler has exhibited outstanding character, setting a high bar in personal and professional conduct, and demonstrating the value of service in the community. He has served as a Director for Fort Bend MUD 41 for over 25 years. Mr. Chandler has been previously awarded the county commissioner’s spotlight award for dedicated service to our community and he consistently conquers challenges for the benefit of others. At 96 years young, Mr. Chandler brings a sense of calm and practicality to board decisions, as well as invaluable life experience and historical knowledge. Described as a servant leader, energetic, humble, selfless, transparent, and unafraid of change, Mr. Chandler is the true embodiment of the principles that make a great water district Director.
